Artist description
Dystopia is not your normal metal band. They
don't parade around in masks and costumes screaming
beyond recognition. "I admit, I love screaming,
but it's just not wise to use it in every song that you
perform; People kind of like to know what the hell you're
trying to get across through the mic," says frontman Tim
Freeman. The rest of the band agreed 100% with him and lead
guitarist, Rueb Shelton added, "... and it's not right for the
guitars to tremolo one note throughout a whole
song... to me, it shows ignorance and no talent." Musicality
is the most important quality for Dystopia.
Another thing the band would tell you is that they
appreciate criticism, but not to the point where it's meaningless and downright dirty. "Some fags were like 'Rapcore sucks' and to me, we aren't rapcore... I don't rap; the closest i've come to rapping is in our song "Sacrifice" but f***, thats lame a** rap," says Tim. "Plus I don't have a Mercedes-Benz or a mansion house." In other words, Dystopia doesnt like to be catagorized into a genre without looking at their whole painting rather than the clothing on Mona Lisa. |
