Artist History
The history of daybreak goes back to 1996, when five pals from the city of Nyköping (Sweden) decided to start up the band.
At the end of 1996 the band recorded their first demotape. It recieved exelent reviews both in Sweden and other countries such as Germany and USA. This was a perfect start for daybreak. Several labels showed their interests at this time, and it resulted in some compilation albums.
During this time the band toured quite frequently in sweden, the respons from the audience were excellent, and about 700 tapes were sold.
September - 97 daybreak recorded their second demotape. This tape resulted in a contract with the swedish label Stronghold Records. In august - 98 the band went, a second time, into Soundlab studios to record their debut album "through your veins". The producer of this record is Mieszko Talarzyk. He has also produced bands such as Nasum, NINE, Millencolin, Skitsystem and many more.
The album got top reviews in many magazines. Among others, scandinavias biggest independent music magazine CLOSE UP. In issue 34, "through your veins" was second best in the soundcheck, before bands as Judas Factor, W.A.S.P, Lord Belial, Anathema, Immolation, Darkmoon and H2O
In April 2001 daybreak have recorded their second album, which will be released in Feb/March 2002 by Straight Ahead Records (Canada). |
