Artist History
D-fect was started in late October of 2000. Originally named Pandemos and formed by cousins Dallas Montgomery and Clay Nevels. Guitarist Brian Henderson and bass player Craig Wolka were also part of the band. After practicing hard for 3 months and one show at a basketball game, Brian left the band for "stylistic" reasons. So Craig stepped up to play guitar (although that was his main instrument of choice, he just played bass because they needed a bass player) and Clay brought Robert Frakes to practice. Everybody liked him and we didn't think he sucked so we made him part of the band. With the departure of Henderson, the band changed its name to D-fect.
We practiced diligently for months and had our first real show at the Battle of the Bands in Salem, IN. Of course, we kicked everybody's ass there. We played a few other shows and got some money for the band. We got tired of seeing the money sit around on the table so we went and spent it at a rinky-dink studio out in the boonies of Scott County.. That's where we recorded the "Killing One Dream EP" and to say the least, it was a rough demo and nothing more.
Off the bat, we sold over 50 copies the first week and sold out of them soon after. Word spread around and we were soon playing shows with Delta 9 Theory and CounterMeasure. After a few months of gigs and shows, D-fect took a break to write more songs to help make a full CD. After their break, the band went back out and began playing shows again with their new material and it went over very very well.
Now the band has shows lined up for December and is setting some up for January. D-fect is also hoping that within the next month, where they will be able to go to a good studio and lay down some of there material.
