Artist History
My guitar playing and love for the guitar started 39 years ago at the age of 10. I have been influenced by many guitarists over the years. My interest was first started by my sister Ann who plays guitar and piano. Around age 10, I started taking lessons from local teachers Mary Eaton and later from Steve Ripley.
Recent guitar seminars that I have attended have been with Tommy Emmanuel(Austrailia), John Knowles(Nashville) and Freddie Bryant(New York). I feel that as as guitarists we must keep learning no matter how long we have played. Learning new material and techniques keeps our playing new and fresh and keeps us from getting in to ruts with our music.
Over the years I have played a variety of music from Rock, Country, Gospel, Jazz, classical, folk and flamenco. As long as I am able to play the guitar I will keep exploring and learning all that I can to improve my playing abilities. Thank you very much for your interest in my guitar work. If you are a guitarist and want to improve your playing, all you need to do is set your goals and then keep after daily practice until you reach your goals. Please keep in mind some players will learn faster than others. If it takes you 5 years to learn a style of playing it will be well worth it. You don't build a large city in a week , you build it one stone at a time. A good qualified instructor will help you reach your goals in guitar playing.
