    Press Reviews
Both reviews by Stefan Koopmanschap. The Long Day Dying is a wonderful, very emotional album. It combines the power of noise with the subtle darkness of dark ambient and the threatening spheres of drones. This is a really dark album with sparks of light all over the place. It is a very impressive album, that overwhelms the listener and won't let it go until the album is finished. Hint: never ever play this CD on repeat, because you won't be able to tear yourself away! This album is simply an experience. Negative Thought - The Black Sun I had high expectations of this new album since I love The Long Day Dying, a previous album by Negative Thought. And so the first time I listened, this album was a bit of a disappointment to me. Negative Thought has, in this album, chosen for subtlely above thick walls of sound and noise. The album is less powerful, yet at the same time more powerful. My disappointment completely vanished when I listened to this album on headphones. On a regular set, a lot of power is lost because of outside noises. Yet when this album is listened to on good headphones, the full power unfolds onto the listener. In this album, low rumbling soundscapes are joined by subtle noises and sounds. Subtlety is the keyword. Using this approach, great atmospheres are created. Subtle shiftings in the sounds make you wonder what it was that you were listening to. You didn't notice a change, yet the sound you hear is different from what you were hearing before. As said, my disappointment was soon gone once I had found the best way to listen to this album. I'd urge anyone with this album to get those headphones out and listen to this on headphones. This album will show you more than you had every imagined possible on headphones. Released on AmbientLive posted by Stefan Koopmanschap, 09.04.2003.) Review by John Sherwood {Taken from unsigned-bands Web Page}. Some sounds come from loops, most are original, overall what you get is an incredible sonic collage. An enigma . . . . .
