Artist History
Mike Aguirre has been playing guitar for 14 years. Professionally trained for 9 of those years, Mike
has a vast learning and playing experience. Mike has been chosen to judge several guitar contests in
the Inland Empire area, and is currently a private instructor.
Most recently, Mike has been involved in a project known as "The Bookstore Brawlers," a power pop/alternative rock band from Southern California. As lead guitarist
for that band, Mike was allowed to flourish as a guitar player, experimenting with different musical styles and effects.
The "Bookstore Brawlers" was an excellent project for Mike, because along with gaining valubable playing experience, Mike learned the business aspect of music, acting as the band's booking agent and manager. Among many of the band's
achievements was playing at The Key Club on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, a show which Mike booked and promoted.
Mike also explored the production aspect of the music business, producing the band's third EP, "Fourplay."
After a great four year stint with "The Bookstore Brawlers," Mike moved on in August of 2001, to study more musical techniques, and to perhaps front his own project.
Mike is currently competing in the Limp Bizkit "Put your Guitar Where Your Mouth Is" contest. Mike is anxious to showcase his talent and musical ability, and hopes to add his
dynamic and unique sound to one of today's most successful rock bands |
