    Artist description
In the spirit of the Modern Lovers, the Real Kids, the Replacements.....a punk/pop power trio hastily slapped together and flew apart after a short but frenzied flight on the Boston club circuit. Putting emotion, energy and angst over technical abilities propelled these lads into the pages of Boston rock history for no good reason I can think of. A handful of furious shows, playing drunk and messed up on cough syrup and falling all over the place instead of actually PLAYING aint necessarily the kinds of tales one looks forward to tellin the grandkids about. OR DO THEY??!!??

    Artist History
In '93, Steve Prygoda (words, guitar) walks out of his Comm. Ave apartment with a few hundred dollars in his pocket and hopped the train into the city. Buys a four-track, a black Telecaster and a distortion pedal. Records a batch of folk/punk songs. Hangs poster outside a Kenmore Square record shop looking for a band. Bassist Tim Shea (cut-up artist, chain smoker, Fitchburg native, freak) dials him up. It's the Summer of '94. Pavement is all the rave. Kurt is gone. They write and rehearse in Tim's smelly Central Square apartment, overlooking the Necco candy factory. (Interesting fact: Tim and Steve considered the band name The Necro Waifers in honer of the Necco Candy factory they so admired). Then, one August night, Tim meets rock critic Joe Harrington across the street at the Middle East; Joe gets Tim in touch with Cold Coffee drummer Sparky - a punker since forever; spins many a tail about Burma, Real Kids and Ramones shows gone-by. The three head down to Sparky's rented rehersal space in the South End, drink bozze and coffee and play like hell, and quickly record a 12 song demo over Thanksgiving weekend in a horrible 8-track studio in Milford Mass. The studio idiots destroy the master tapes 14 months later. But anyways....Tim books their first gig on Dec 23rd, 1994 at the Causeway, opening for Bratface. Subsequent New York and Boston gigs follow. Their spring Middle East debut gig is cancelled due to Tim's invitation to Johnny Cash's house for Mr. Cash's daughter's wedding. They get re-booked and tear it up. Cough syrup bottles hurled at audience members. Steve staggers and screeches off-key. Looking back, it's all quite embarrassing, but a hell of a ride at the time. After playing together for less than a year, Tim decides to leave the group and start his own thing - Cloud Furnace - featuring future members of local space cedtes Abunai!. Sparky and Steve continue to play for fun, but would never take the stage without Shea. In 1999, a comprehensive Meatsicle CD collection surfaces. Tim moved out to Seattle; Sparky still plays with Cold Coffee. Steve continues to four-track, and also is playing guitar and singing in the Boston band My Own Worst Enemy (www.eliseil.com)
