Artist description Bending Mouth consists of two artistic poets(Selfhelp & Thesis)and a whole list of Canadian producers that contribute on that level. Both poets are globe-trotting travellers that grab the bull by the horns and make things happen. Selfhelp has lived in more places than you. He has also been writing since before then and then again. Thesis(HW,HUG,OPS) has been doing the same with writing..even writing the best thesis paper in class and making the teachers say "holy shit"...meanwhile he was hard at work for many years, avidly painting a unique marking of his own grafitti style. Mostly painting jagged, strange little men, women and creatures alike. The group together +a+n+d+ mixed with all contributors =equals=: a bizarre collection of "what are we making today!!" Stirred with a will to sacrifice comfort to endure the "Hitch-Hiking Magicians Endearing Journey". Besides personal missions for art(Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver, Banff, Regina, London, Calgary, Parry Sound, Algonquin Park, Edmonton, Kelowna, Cincinatti, Detroit, Gulf Shores(Alabama) and many unlistable smaller towns; Bending Mouth has had some interesting venues along the way: Handsolo Records 5th anniversary(The Kathedral, Toronto, Ont.2001), the Under Pressure Magazine yearly graf show (Foufounes Electrique, Montreal 2001), and Swollen Members (with Toolshed, London, Ont.2001)...there's been others and they have all been great...On to the next. Painting things with a bent mouth and eating rusted spoons in the backyard with really tall grass...and a metal pole in the middle of the bassment. Yep.

Music Style The future of hip-hop without pushing into the drum n' bass or jungle era. Dealing mainly with political issues while maintaining a positive outlook within the complex poetic rhyme structures and fluent, interesting beats.

Musical Influences Too many. From the foundations of hip-hop(i.e. Melle Mel, Tone Loc, Maestro Fresh Wes, Ultra-Magnetic Mc's, Special Ed, etc.) to the psychadelic, acid-based 70's rock(i.e. Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, The Doors, Iron Butterfly, Frank Zappa, etc.) However, recent influence would mostly reflect on sub-terranean musicians(i.e. Freestyle Fellowship, Shapeshifters, Anticon, Aesop Rock, Sebutones, Bus Driver, etc. So to sum it up, there is a broad range of musical influences.
