Artist History I have wanted to sing Christian jazz since I was 18 years old. At the time I was a student at Howard University, and I happened to attend a jazz workshop lead by Betty Carter. From the moment I made up my mind that I wanted to sing jazz. The desire lay dormant for about 10 years. After my grandmother's death, I wrote a song in honor of my grandmother's life entitled "Shadow Dance." This song was the turning point in my life. From that one song came many other songs with a deep, heartfelt message and music that really calms the spirit.
