Artist History Adam Evening is a collaboration between Mike Rimbaud, a singer-songwriter from New York City and Marc Billon, an electronic music composer of Paris, France. Their friendship dates back ten years when Marc was playing keyboards in Mikes touring band, The Subway Sun. He also did synthesizer and keyboard work on two of Mikes CD’s, “Red Light”, recorded in Paris and “Graffiti Trees” in New York. In 1999 they began an experimental project, where Marc would send bits of electronic music to New York, and Mike would adapt lyrics and guitar melodies to them. A couple years later, after several recording sessions both in Paris and New York, there is more than an album worth of material. The music of Adam Evening strives for a new electronic rock style. Through different recording techniques and experimentation with new sounds, they have found it. It is a musical meeting and melting from the different artistic worlds of urban Folk Rock, Jazz and Electronic music. Combining live musicians with samples and tape loops, acoustic and twangy roots, guitar riffs with industrial synthesizers. Adam Evening is built on rhythms of all kinds; electronic dance grooves, classic rock beats, and everything from South American to North African percussion. With a half singing and speaking style, Mike Rimbaud’s voice rocks to his words, grooving us with odd, sometimes funny images and urban conversation.
