Artist description
People pay Tim Clarke large sums of money to make buzzing sounds into a large metal contraption called a "trumpet". The resultant sound has been known to induce both laughter and applause. While some would find this activity to be a painful experience, Tim derives a strange sense of personal fulfillment from this child-like behavior. |

Music Style
Contemporary jazz--personal, yet accessible. |

Musical Influences
Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Dave Douglas, Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, Kenny Wheeler. |

Artist History
Tim's trumpet-blowing grandfather gave him his first horn in 5th grade. His parents, both visual artists, encouraged his musical studies. Tim played in geeky bands and youth orchestras until falling in love with jazz at age 15. In college, Tim found he had a knack for writing catchy tunes. Today, Tim continues to write catchy tunes, and plays them for captive audiences whenever possible. |
