Artist History "Just pure fucking metal! No pathos, no swords no dragons, just good music!" That is what Olaf Brinkmann from Legacy Metal Magazine wrote about Prone to Shade. Of course, this pleases these five metal-headz consisting of Burkhard Beintken working the drums, Christian Moorkamp who drives the bass, his older brother Matthias and Jan Spider Liebermann on their axes, with Jens The Dude Buehrmann responsible for all vocals. And pure metal is what this band (playing in this formation for three years now) from Western-Lower-Saxony wants to deliver. FAST AND LOUD! Regarding this, it is no wonder that this noisy group tends to a hard and powerful live-performance. But apart from strong riffs that hit you hard, Prone to Shade releases the pressure of their own arrangements with slow melodic passages, to let the audience recover their neck-muscles. Then they come back: the raw energy with mighty drums, driving-against-the-wall-riff-playing guitars and powerful vocals. Until today, the region between Oldenburg and Muenster had the pleasure and pain to endure Prone to Shade live on stage. Apart from several club-gigs this group also supported some Open-Air-Festivals throughout these years. The description of Prone to Shade`s first demo Flight 666 (reviewed in more than twenty print and online-magazines) is hard to determine, so the band itself calls their style of metal simply Thrash n Roll. An exact style is of less importance for these five musicians between the age of 23 and 25 anyway, for them it’s the music that counts and first of all: having a good time playing together. This enthusiasm must also be audible, referring to several reviews that saw Prone to Shade as a professional, self-confident band with a good portion of entertaining qualities. Friends of hard and loud music now have the possibility to judge for themselves, with Prone to Shade`s self-produced demo-CD "Flight 666" (released February 2000) that can be ordered on www.prone-to-shade.de or directly at the contact address (Price: 7.5 €). With a playtime of 26:28 min, this demo contains six songs, recorded on several weekends in a friend`s studio. In the near future, Prone to Shade plans a new recording to present all the new stuff – harder than before, but still Prone to Shade. SO LOUD SO GOOD.
