Artist description
Flexie is on a mission to rock and be rocked., ³No track lighting² is the
motto of these Boston rockers. In 1997 a 6 song EP, Galaxy Park, was
released with a full CMJ push getting national play. From the infamous Viper
Room on the Sunset Strip to the grit of The Continental in New York City, in
the years that followed Flexie cut their teeth on the unsuspecting
club-goer.. Boston, 2001, Flexie emerged from the lab to offer up their
second release, Flexie Take Out. Itıs dark and sweet for boys and girls. |

Artist History
The band started when Chris met Ellie at the Model Cafe in Allston six years ago. He was playing with Richard and Brett in another band at the time, and Ellie and Rosie had been writing songs for years. It seemed like a great opportunity to start something new and unique. The combination of folk/rock coming from the girls and goth/industrial from the boys created a very unique sound that is undeniably dark and sexy. |

Press Reviews
"If there were any rules to alternative rock, Flexie would be the band to break them. Flexie has created its own new sound that is powerful, catchy and melodic."
-DAVID WILDMAN: THE BOSTON GLOBE
" In "Everybody," guitarist Richard Marr's orchestral effects and versatile repertoire of short licks lead drummer Chris Willett and bassist Brett Fasullo through intricate shifts among progressive rock drama, Lush-like raves, and jazz bridges that feature the band playing around the rhythm. Trilling and swooping through keys, the trippy vocalizations of Ellie Volckhausen and Rosie Huntress in "Kites" slide across the melody as they whirl through a carnival of isolated images: . . . Let's hope that a major label doesn't smooth out the rough edges."
-CRAIG THORN: THE BOSTON PHOENIX
"One of the defining aspects to Galaxy Park is that all of the choruses in every song are oustanding. The Music is huge, and with the excellent production work, fills the spectrum of sound."
-NICK GASS: NORTHEAST PERFORMER
"They don't take the easy road. . .Strange shifts in tempo, unorthodox chord progressions and unique vocal harmonies all blend together to make Flexie something recognizable, but definitely not stale. There is also a certain urgency in their music that similar bands, especially from Britain, often lack."
-RICH LUPESCU: MODERN MUSICIAN MONTHLY
