Artist History Velvetine emerged on the Sydney Scene early in 2002 as a supporting act for David Lane's (You Am I) band The Picture's. This Show also served as Velvetines Debut E.P release. Shortly after Velvetine won the Nova 96.9, Sunday Telegraph, Garage Days Band competition. Out of 70 entries they were chosen by Festival/Mushroom A&R and Nova 96.9's Program Director. The prize included 12 hrs Recording time at Velvet Sound studio's in which a new Version of This Week was recorded and then played on Nova's Original Sydney program on High rotation.
