Artist description
We are a band from Richmond, Virginia, on a mission from God to bring improvisation and the art of cooking back to live music. It's kind of a weird mix of rock, funk, folk, jazz, bluegrass, blues, and whatever else seems appropriate (or non-appropriate, whichever the case) We like to have an improvisational spirit at our shows, and we make sure that every show is different...Sometimes for the best, and sometimes not so much.

Artist History
We are Dandy Otto, a band from Richmond, VA. The band spawned in 1999 as an attempt to make very loud noise in a suburban basement. This noise got louder and slightly more centralized, and became significantly more musical in April of 2000 when the regular lineup began.
Throughout that summer we spent a large amount of time sharpening our covers and creating original music. We began playing for the public that fall, our first gig at a pool party (quite an event). Since then, we've played at talent nights, parties, and we've had a series of monthly gigs at the Three Chopt Sports Grill since December, some of which have attracted over 100 people. We've just played the Canal Club (a 1500 capacity venue!) the Innsbrook Pavillion, and we just recorded a full-length CD at OSO studios.

Listen for yourself to decide. But I'll give you a hint: A school newspaper described our CD as "one cool piece of plastic." |
