Artist description
Yardshaker is a traditional Ska and Rocksteady band based out of Copenhagen. With the inspiration from the original Jamaican ska from the early 1960’s, spiced with early American rhythm’n’blues, soul and motown, Yardshaker plays ska and rocksteady with close reference
to the music’s founding fathers and the way Yardshaker likes it: Simple and bouncy.

Artist History
Yardshaker was formed in the Summer of 2001 by former Furillo founder and frontman Nikolaj Bonnén. In late 2000 he left Furillo in order to start a traditional and authentic sounding ska band and again pick up the bass, following the years as lead vocalist in Furillo. American Robert Cellini, with a past in the Toronto based Power Pop band Gone Hazel, which had some success in Eastern and Midwestern US, was recruited to take the lead vocal slot. Within a few months the line-up was complete and Yardshaker’s debut came at Copenhagen’s famed venue, Loppen, in September 2001. |
