Artist description Santa Barbara based Heavy Metal Act, Kaptin Krunch, an up and coming force in California's metal scene, began in Ventura and Los Angeles playing with national touring acts such as The Cadillac Tramps at The Roxy Theatre. The band recently recorded a live CD/Video with an LA promotional company Live Unsigned after selling 300 copies of their first demo "The Land of The Lost" at local and LA shows. Via the web, radio and street teams advancing their range and fan base in preparation. They are planning a tour for the Summer of 2002 and have been in contact with the Milwaukee and New Jersey Metalfest promoter. Kaptin Krunch formed August 2000 by Lead Guitarist, Dale Shreve, Bassist, Ian Weber former members of The Weave, and Vocalist, Dave Jessen, a former member of Ventura's Aggression. Within weeks they added close friend, Rythm Guitarist and Backing Vocals, Hap Putnam, who previously played with Ugly Kid Joe and Embodiement. Drummer, Mondo Melendez, formally of Asinine and Sever, was added to the line up through a mutual friend. Months after their first show, Kaptin Krunch, had the opportunity to play with The Dead Kennedy's, Novemer 2001 at The Majestic Ventura Theatre, Ca. Playing an average of 1-2 shows a week to include Paladino's, The Garage, Mc Red's etc. Once again, the band will play The Ventura Theatre on April 7th 2002 with Motorhead. In February 2002, the band's title song from their first Demo played on the air on 95.9 The Octopus (The Rock Revolution) new music show and have been asked to return to do a live performance on March 9th which will be simalcast on the web radio. While working their day jobs, Kaptin Krunch has managed to keep themselves busy for the last year and a half playing venues and completing recording projects in the surrounding area.
