Artist History Fifty50 are a melodic punk/ska/emo band from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. They have been around making music in various forms for about quite some time, although formally 'Fifty50' , as a band has only existed for around 2 years. Aged between 16 - 17 the lads are fairly young in the sceme of things and will be completing their final year of school together this year (2001). After which they will be focusing on the band amoung study and the like. The band has come along way since their first show at the buderim tavern in 1998, and quite a bit has changed. Among various acheivments the band has managed to; take second place to parkhead @ Youth Rock 2000, organise and play numerous social and band comps, and gain the respect of a lot of punters, friends and fellow bands. Fifty50's line up has not always been as it is. Not long after the release of their debut full lenght album entitled "You've Changed Man", their long time second guitarist and vocalist left the band leaving them as a three peice. Soon after Anthony assumed the lead vocal responcibilities and josh also stepped up volenteering a few well places harmonies. They then operated as a three peice for several months focusing on writing and rehersing new material and refining and changing their style to a more emo type sound. Currently they are working on the addition of their Webmaster Lucas on second guitar returing them to a four peice. The addition seems to have strengthened their sound and lucas is fitting in well, in attitude, ability and dedication. Being the talented lads that they are fifty50 have also participated in various side projects over the years, the main one of which being Derailment. Derailment was a ska cover band that featured Josh on vocals, Duncan on bass, and Anthony on guitar. The brass section of derailment also consisted of varoius members that blew a note for Open for inspection somwhere along the line such as Knawdang on alto sax and Luigi (also of sydney ska band The kirbys) on trumpet. As well as this Anthony also played a show with Open for inspection on alto sax. Fifty50 also became online with thanks to Emo Lucas in mid 2001 and now have a quite impressive website that can be visited at www.fifty50.8m.com. The site features all the usuals as well as sounds of the more recent fifty50 recorded by Anthony and the band as Anthonys house.
