Artist History Gaynor started playing kit drums at around 13 years old, was in her first band at aged 14, and has been playing local venues across Wales and England ever since. She has been self taught and inspired by many styles and percussionists. Her background had mainly been involved with well respected guitar bands, gaining regular reviews in the music papers, but her work and style has crossed virtually all type of music - dance, funk, grunge, ska, latin & world music. She is usually involved in many projects at a time, happily to do stand in gigs, session work, programming and helping with drum workshops at festivals. She plays electronic & acoustic drums for a 3 piece band 'Never', and plays for 'Mambo Jambo' as a latin percussionist - a world / dance / latin 8 piece band. Karmashen was born in early 2001 and is purely a solo recording project, writing material for the second album has already started. It covers all styles of ambient, trip hop, funk, ethno, groovey techno, tribal, drum & bass. It has opened up other areas of work, and she is due to work with Dean Marcel soon (see links) with remixing and percussion work, and is now working on writing material for the Phood project with 'Spotta', who plan to do live shows together next summer.
