Artist History Factor IX formed in July 1999, started playing live in September and quickly formed a strong following. Their style is a comfortable alternative from the everyday to a more likable 'melodic while maintaining super-heavy aggression' approach that has won over favoritism with the local scene. The members of Factor IX have many years experience in musicianship, recording, and live performance. Each member comes from different backgrounds bringing different styles to Factor IX's music. Each song has it's own personality, which keeps the crowd interested throughout the performance. Factor IX has been known to include their own light and projection show at live performances to enhance the effect of their sound. Factor IX has been given opportunities to open for such national acts as Cold, Apartment 26, and Primer 55. Factor IX has a full-featured website and a faithful following. Available at www.factor9.net are updates on live performances, feedback from fans, live pictures and many other forms of information on the Louisville music scene. Factor IX released their first recording in September of 1999... only a month after forming. Louisville's local rock station, 100.5 the Fox (WTFX) has been playing their music regularly since. March 3rd marked the release of Factor IX's self titled CD. The CD has been well received locally, selling 160 copies initially the day of it's release. The CD release show set a record at the venue with over 500 people in attendance. Factor IX's plan of action is to focus on the music. The passion in writing and performing has driven them to succeed in the local music scene, and that same passion will bring them further success.
