Artist History
Bob: Nadine, do you have any idea what you've done to us just by mentioning dogs in our home?
Nadine: No, what did I just do?
Bob: You've no idea?
Nadine: No, I don't Bob. What did I do?
Bob: You just put a thirty day hex on us, that's what you did. Our luck just flew out the window for the next thirty days. You got a calender so we know when this hex ends?
The past, the present and the future
Its about seven years now since the band first began to emerge. The early days consisted of Rhys, Terry and James banging out a hybrid mix of Zappaesque, Pavement inspired lunacy. Then came along the Reverend, Reverend Jah to be precise. Together 30 Day Hex and Reverend Jah shared a keen interest in non-violent computer games and violent drinking games. So musical collaboration ensued, with fruitful results.
These lovely chaps, and not to forget Jenny, have helped to add an extra element of confusion to the whole 30 Day Hex scenario. And in recent years the line-up has been known to consist of up to 7 people, producing a mixture of improvised white-noise tunes and some more structured material.
"Seeing may be believing but there are many ways of seeing"
So what does the future hold? More sitting in dark rooms patting each other on the back and shouting past neighbour's rants I guess. Maybe one day you'll want to be wrapped around the neck (- or maybe not). Reverend Jah has now become Princess Headbutt, and inter-band relations are verging on the incestuous. But whatever happens we'll still be here. We have no plan or aim, other than to keep doing what we're doing. |
