Progression Spring 2003 Omni performs in a dark, metal-tinged style powered by Chris Cullman's rigorous riffing on bass and Chapman Stick, and anchored by Will Andrews' inventive drumming. Hans Twite plays guitar as well as handling vocals. What impresses about Omni is the ability to rise above genre conventions. Contrary to the album's title, this is a band that does nothing by the numbers. Listen to the hard-driving "Every Day" and you'll find that Omni doesn't pull any punches. Imagine Flea of the RHCP fronting a prog band. Pretty cool stuff.
