ProgSheet, Spring 2003 "The first word that comes to mind is "muscular." This guitar/bass/drums trio have a ferocious depth to their sound. While the vocals are soft, almost trance-like, the accompanying music lulls then pounds fiercely. OMNI are a fresh young trio that slides nicely between Porcupine Tree and Tool. Prognaut January 31, 2003 Review Omni is a power trio based in Seattle who love creating and exploring the boundaries of modern rock music...Omni shows off that even mainstream can be interesting again. ProgressiveWorld May 2003 A modern rock band with prog sensibilities, Omni know the meaning of dynamic...the songs, which are creative and darkly atmospheric, are the real stars here. In fact, modern rock doesn't get much better than this, without becoming fully progressive. Progression Spring 2003 Omni performs in a dark, metal-tinged style powered by Chris Cullman's rigorous riffing on bass and Chapman Stick, and anchored by Will Andrews' inventive drumming. Hans Twite plays guitar as well as handling vocals. What impresses about Omni is the ability to rise above genre conventions. Contrary to the album's title, this is a band that does nothing by the numbers. Listen to the hard-driving "Every Day" and you'll find that Omni doesn't pull any punches. Imagine Flea of the RHCP fronting a prog band. Pretty cool stuff.
