Artist description
Even before he could walk or talk, Bill Collier loved to sing. Fostered in his musical development by a loving and nurturing relationship with family and friends, he began the daunting task of making a career in the music community.
While growing up on Prince Edward Island, Bill always wanted to entertain. Whether it was at a family reunion in the second grade or a garden party in Brussels, Belgium he always somehow found his way to the limelight. (Not always voluntarily!)
The most important thing in Bill's life is, and always will be to make music. It is the one thing he is sure he can use to leave his mark on the world. Bill has played in many bands as a sideman, but in 1995 he finally made the leap to the front of the stage with the band "Mystery Snail."
For two years he relished the hot, sweaty bars of P.E.I., playing everything from ABBA to Zappa. He also played at many high profile events, such as the first ever "Bridge-Fest," and the Charlottetown "Festival of the Fathers." As he worked to gain respect from his peers and fans alike, he developed a flair for colorful vocals, and highly energetic musicianship.
In 1999 Bill began collaborating with pianist & composer Aaron Collier. Bill's innate sense of lyricism and melody, coupled with Aaron's ability to cut right to the heart of a song gave Bill a fresh outlook on his music. With a history of making good music and a future filled with so many more songs to sing, one can't help but get the feeling that these two are going to go far.
In 2001 Bill and Aaron moved to Halifax N.S. where they are currently continuing to explore new musical ideas while recording their debut C.D. "Untitled." Aaron is also currently the keyboardist for "The Jimmy Swift Band."
Who knows what fortunes the future may hold for Bill Collier. He has been given the chance to learn and explore his new voice on a grander scale then he ever knew was possible. He is ready to put his passion for entertaining and his love for good music to the test.
Here's hoping the rewards will be halfway as fruitful as the journey.
