Artist History
Two weeks in July is a modern rock/pop band that began in the spring of 2000. Two weeks in July rose from the ashes of two very successful local bands - Katalasso and Limousine. The band formed when Jeff Goff the drummer from the group Katalasso and Matt Warren guitarist of Limousine found themselves between musical projects. By mere coincidence the two ran into one another searching for new musical projects. Immediately Jeff and Matt found common musical interest and started writing finely crafted songs. Finding a common bond in well constructed, tight pop songs that pack massive aural muscle as well as being laced with fine musical intricacies. A year has passed and the bands line up has been solidified. Singer/writer Jacob McGinnis fronts the group, putting forth an honest approach to the vocals so rarely found in new groups of the genre. Nathan Stevens lends the perfect blend of keyboards and guitar, which at points tend to flow perfectly into one another seamlessly. Jeremy Little solidifies the group’s sound through his tactful approach to bass. The group’s dynamic has been likened to the honesty of U2, with the pop intricacies of Self, and the beautiful musical prowess of Radiohead. The bands high-energy persona, and well-written songs immediately overtake an audience looking for good music with a positive message. Songs like "Freedom," "Your Lies," and "She Said" are immediate classics waiting to be realized. |
