Artist History
The Dirty Triplets formed in a South Philly basement in the year 2000. Their motto: "We're Crafty" or "Timing isn't everything."
The lead singer/guitar player and main songwriter Joan Solley started performing in New York's Greenwich Village before landing in Philadelphia. She's got a voice that melts. Hear for yourself, call 976 -555-JOAN. Only $5.95 per minute.
Bass player Nancy Falkow has owned her bass since she was 16 years old. Joan needed a bass player, so Nancy bought strings. Nancy has since perfected the ultimate "Bass Face."
Joann Schmidt has the crappiest drum kit you've ever seen. But if you close your eyes, you won't see the drum kit. Then again, if you close your eyes you will miss it when Joann falls off her drum stool. She averages 2 falls per rehearsal, 1 fall per gig.
Newest addition to the Triplets is lead guitarist Kara Lafty who was forced to join the band at knife point. A prolific drummer, songwriter and guitar player in her own right, Kara is best known for her unique ability to make any situation sexual. Just ask her mom.
Four very strong forces on the Philadelphia music scene have joined together, each adding their own special element. The combination of Joan's unique style of guitar playing and songwriting, Kara's indie rock-pop sensibility, Nancy's soulful and melodic expression in song with Joann's undeniably rock solid beats makes The Dirty Triplets the most musically interesting thing to come out of Philly since Cinderella.
Disclaimer: Their music sounds best when listened to while high speed dubbing.

Press Reviews
"Steeped in equal parts Beatles, Stones and Velvet Underground, she's [Solley] got a throaty voice that befittingly punctuates her lyrical accounts of yearning, late night boozing and other pitfalls in the human condition….Lafty seamlessly blended her jagged, angular six-string stylings to the group's ripening sound."
