Artist History
KingSize has become one of Boston's hottest new rock bands,
after bursting onto the scene in early 2002. Their energetic live shows and
unique sound began to generate quite a buzz in the Boston scene. Soon, they
were selling out the clubs in Boston, including Bill's Bar, The MiddleEast,
and
T.T. The Bear's. This was followed by headlining appearances at
Boston's NEMO showcase, and New York's ASCAP showcase.
Adrian and David are no strangers to the Boston music scene, as their
previous band (My Favorite Relative) won 2 Boston Music Awards among its
6 nominations. In early 2002, Adrian and David formed Kingsize. The band
has been described as "a fresh addition to the Boston rock scene, combining
elements of hard rock, innovative guitar textures, and catchy melodies...to
create a style all their own". Adrian's fiery vocals and charismatic
performances bring to mind the vocal greats of the past, a modern
incarnation of Led Zeppelin and Soundgarden's dynamic frontmen.
After acquiring new management, the band has spent the last year playing
throughout the Northeast, building a strong, dedicated following. Past
touring partners have included Princess Superstar, Lo-Fidelity Allstars,
Vertical Horizon, Men at Work, Saint Etienne, Great Big Sea and the Push
Stars. Although unsigned, their music has already received airplay on
several major radio stations in Boston, and throughout New England.
The band recently finished new recordings at New York's Hit Factory with
Grammy award-winning producer/engineer Neil Dorfsman (Sting, Paul McCartney,
Bruce Springsteen). Kingsize described the experience in a recent interview
at WKPE 104.7: "Working with Neil really enabled us to explore greater
possibilities as a band. He did a great job of capturing what this band is
all about. We are very excited to share these new songs with our fans..."
The release of KingSize's debut album is scheduled for early 2003.
