Artist History Joy Lies Within began in late 1996 when vocalist/guitarist Jimmy Rossi met up with drummer Tony Escapa and the two began writing music for live shows. Jimmy has always said that the band was doomed from the beginning. Although excited to have formed his first band, he could always see the end just ahead. Much of this is heard in the early songs which are marked with melodies and lyrics that allude to pain and endings. Band lasted through Summer 1999.
