Artist History
From early on Greg Frazier knew in his heart that music was his calling. At the age of 12 Frazier wrote a song for a nationwide school contest for patriotic songs. and one first place in city, regional and went to state and came in second place.
Throughout Junior High and High School he studied classical vocal music and was in High School Choir and Madrigal as well as a short stint as guitarist for the school Jazz Band along with pursuing Rock and Roll with several bands. As soon as Greg graduated, he moved into the professional arena with a cover band and began playing Night Clubs, Teen Centers, countless Battle of the Bands (All of which they won first prize).)
In the mid-eighties Frazier began touring with a Glam-Metal band and eventually a Top-40 Club band and saw the better part of the US while gaining an education on the ways of the road, the business and life lessons galore. "We were broke and hungry and traveling thousands of miles," Frazier says, "but I wouldn't trade a minute of it for something else, we had mad fun and I learned many valuable lessons."
Weary of the style of music he was playing and frustrated with not writing his own material, he and Guitarist Kenny Gott formed Mr. Scary with the astounding Dave Mark on guitar and Bart Kelley on drums. Starting as an eclectic, progressive music cover band, they soon began writing songs and rapidly became the toast of Springfield. "I never had a more satisfying band experience than what I had with (Mr.) Scary," he adds, "And with many good things, this came to an abrupt and sorrowful end."
Disenchanted, Frazier dropped out of the music scene for a few years, when finally inspiration struck he and Kenny Gott. Songs were written, a CD was produced and Frazier felt the heat of the muse in his heart again. While Missing Lincoln is the centerpiece of his interest, he derives great joy from the several other bands he works with, including Snapperhead, currently recording a new album, Van Halen tribute band Fair Warning and Alice Cooper tribute band Billion Dollar Babies.
"The impetus is now here for me to put my entire being into Missing Lincoln; its my heart and soul and it's time for me. I've been blessed and a master plan is prepared and being executed."
Frazier and Gott are currently in pre-production on a follow up record to be released in mid 2003. |
