Artist description A new 5-piece band emerging from various corners of the East Bay, Distill is looking to bring its music to audiences everywhere. The name of the band is reflective of its mission- to take the variety of influences and styles of music inherent in its members and combine and purify the result until one clear, but never static, voice is created. With a sound that straddles the genre lines between metal, industrial, electronic music, and alternative rock, Distill is ultimately creating rock of an intense modern kind that's a unique and consistent hybrid of all that's come before. Formed from the ashes of another project called Dismal, the group is comprised of Jason (Vocals, lyrics, founding member of Dismal,) Ryan (guitar,) Maria (guitar,) Jeremia (drums,) and Owen (bass, keyboards.) Having spent the better part of a year writing material, Distill plans to play out for a larger audience while looking towards recording its full-length debut in the coming year. Plans are also in the works for producing a new 2 to 3 song demo to satisfy growing demand for a widely available recording. Never sacrificing melody for intensity, Distill is ready to make a lasting impression on music in the Bay Area and beyond.
