Artist description
Listen. Somewhere beyond the skyline, floating in
the outer galaxies of the Midwest (Ann Arbor MI,
specifically), reside the cosmic vibes of Cloud
Nine Music.
The sextet concocts a sonic stew of instrumentally
driven hip-hop, live electronic, 70s-era funk, jazz, and vintage Motown soul.
While they use these stylistic touchstones
liberally, they have nevertheless managed to
produce a sound that is uniquely their own.
The reason for this is simple: Cloud Nine Music’s
sound comes from the heart. It is the organic
quality of the rhythm, the smoothness of the
grooves and the formidable vocal talents of
singer/MC Jamie Register, all of which work
together to produce an amalgam of funked up
grooves that is neither derivative or contrived—
a true rarity indeed.
If anything is for certain Cloud Nine Music's
high energy, neck breaking live performances will
make you dance. They promise. |
