Artist History Nick Depew was born in Los Angeles, CA. In 1991, he moved to Oregon. However, it wasn't until a few years later that he really started getting involved with music. The music that really seemed to strike a chord with Nick were the alternative, modern rock, and grunge sounds. In 1996, Nick started teaching himself how to play the guitar. He used a number of alternative albums as references. This soon progressed into formulating tunes, which then led to writing full pieces, then to writing lyrics for those pieces. By the end of his freshman year of college, Nick had completed the writing process for his debut album, "Relevant Discord." However, it would be some time before things would progress from there. In 2001, Nick finally had an opportunity to record his album. While, completing his senior project for his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Nick started his own record label called Dynamic Wind Records. During this time, he also found a local recording studio and began producing his album. After countless hours of recording, mixing, graphic designing, and setting up all of the legal aspects of Dynamic Wind Records, Nick Depew's "Relevant Discord" album was released in early November of 2001. Since the release of "Relevant Discord" Nick has played a number of concerts, opening for groups such as: Kutless and Crimson (formerly Electrik Groove). He has also continued writing more music, some of which also combines hard-core elements into the modern rock sound. Some of his new material is available on this site and is available on his Album 2 (Demo) CD, which was released on November 21, 2002. As far as the future is concerned, Nick Depew is finishing the writing processes for his 2nd full-length album. The album may be a double-disc effort that will combine an edgier sound into the alternative / modern rock genre. The album will most likely be released under an "officially" band name. However, at this point there is no tentative date as to when the finished product will be availble.
