Artist description We are the violent underground in our town. We have been compared to a couple of other bands but not for our sound. The music is a downright vile assault. Our live shows have become the stuff of legend around here resulting in it being hard to play live in our hometown. As Kevin, bassist for Big Black Cat put it... "They are Black Flag times 10 plus Judas Priest times 20 minus Joey Lawrence times 20."

Similar Artists we don't sound like any one but ..... maybe anal cunt with some Blood Duster and Exit 13 Jazzy stuff... with the fury of the Murder Junkies.. of course none of those are popular artists!

Artist History We started toying with the idea in high school but never made a band until the year after a couple of us graduated. We played for a while and then lost our guitarist to alcohol. It didn't slow us down though, more of our memorable performances were given as a three piece with no guitar. After a period of auditioning a bunch of people that just couldn't handle it we got our new permanent axman who works well with our sound. We have put out loads of shatly tapes and now even have a couple of CDs to add to the pile.

Group Members Chris: Founding member and bassmeister for Gizzard Smoke. He writes most of the music and recordings take place at his house. He is definately a threat to society and it's good he keeps himself occupied beating his bass all of the time. He has splayed open his finger on a broken toilet and proceeded to finish the rest of the set, resulting in the body of his bass being literally covered in blood. Now that's dedication! Rad:In a word... RAAAAAAAAAAGHH!! Rad is the perfect frontman for this chaotic nightmare of a group. His antics at the live shows have earned him a reputation as a dangerous and deranged performer. He has hurled fists, glass bottles and even chicken gizzards at the crowd with reckless abandon. A founding member as well,he writes and delivers the lyrics and most of the artwork the band uses. Asa: Sticks and stones may break your bones but Asa will drum on your head. The Pony, as the band calls him is the youngest and skinniest member of the group. He has been around the whole time but didn't originally play with the band. His blastbeats and thunderous rolls drive forward the mayhem that is Gizzard Smoke. Zak:He's evil, evil I'm tellin' ya'. Zak is the newest edition to the noisy assault that GS dishes out. He is soundly skilled in the craft of guitar combat and evil soloing. He fills out the sound nicely with his extensive knowledge of hardcore guitarplay making for a truly gruesome foursome.

Press Reviews Well, I don't know about official reviews but... We got the plug pulled on us at the Full Tilt Battle of the Bands... Got banned from playing Club Illusions due to some rowdy fans of ours... Participated in a chaotic show was the last hoorah of a club around here. Smashed a toilet, blew up a pumpkin and about 15 people proceeded to destroy the place while we played and then afterwards continued the violence long into the night.
