Artist History
Bored with the current music scene, the Providence, RI - based band Cobalt has taken it upon them-selves to change it.
The band's sound bridges the gap between hard rock and metal, creating a sound that will be leaving fans of both genres satisfied.
Cobalt is a collaboration of three long time friends and a love for heavy music. Evan Whitman and Brian Gagnon played previously in bands with each other, and have released an independent demo under the name of "Surrounded By Rejektion". Upon moving back to New England after living briefly in Dallas, Sean Harrop entered the fold. The trio began jamming and soon realized that together they had stumbled upon a source unstoppable energy.
One of the most important aspects of the song writing is the deep lyrical content. Brian’s lyrics are revolved around personal experiences, but he takes them to the next level. Not only will you relate to every song, but you will FEEL every word sung.
Musically, Cobalt tends to keeps things on the heavy side while adding depth to the songs with layered guitar arrangements. In addition, the band keeps a groove tight enough to move the toughest crowds.
Their self-produced, debut demo album “Elements” has captured the energy of their live performance. It is a treat for any true music lover.
