Artist History
I was born in New York City under the astrological sign of Aquarius, and was catapulted into the world of music by my late-great father, Bert Berns. Dad was one of his generation's most talented writers and producers, leaving us songs like "Twist & Shout," "Hang on Sloopy," "Brown Eyed Girl," "Under the Boardwalk" and many more. Needless to say, this is both the sunlight in which I have basked and the shadow from which I've had to emerge.

Cassie Berns Comes Right On Time
Review by Geneva World, GirlMedia.Com
As the daughter of legendary Bert Berns (producer/writer to songs like Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" & The McCoy's "Hang On Sloopy"), Cassie Berns' has music in her genes. Looking to prove herself in the music world, Berns' took to recording in her early teens and scored a record deal with Elektra. Geared up to show her talent as a singer/songwriter, Berns' recorded a pop/reggae album, which was unfortunetly benched due to "roster congestion".
Not detored from her goal of being a successful songwriter like her father, Berns continued working in the music industry, waiting for her time to shine. The time spent honing her talent has paid off with her recently release EP, "Everything In Time". Co-written with singer/songwriter Shannon Sanders, "Everything In Time" is a flashback to the days when southern rock had a mainstream appeal.
Berns' voice is sweet like Amy Grant but her guitar work reminds me of an early Melissa Etheridge and Sophie B. Hawkins. This mix of good-girl/ rock chick makes for an appealing blend of attitudes on the album. Berns' comes out sultry rather then innocent, kind-hearted rather then bitchy.
Her 8-track EP contains a fair mix between (out of) love songs and social issues written from an every-woman perspective. "Keep It Goin' On" talks about how a bad relationship can't keep up it's facade, while "A Change Is Gonna Come" inspires those living in hard times that it "won't always be this way."
With the release of "Everything In Time", Cassie Berns can take pride in herself for writing a fantastic debut, one that would make Bert Bern's proud of his little girl.
