Artist description
Orient Oriented is a debut CD by a Japanese artist,
composer, and producer, Yaz Kawasaki. Yaz has created
soundtracks for computer graphics (CG) animations by
talented Japanese CG artists such as Ryoichiro Debuchi.
Debuchi has won awards at SIGRAPH and other international
events. He contributed to this album quite a lot so that he is
credited as co-producer. The cover of the album is his original
computer graphics he contributed.
Orient Oriented features compositions created mainly for these
CGs which have a variety of flavors especially from Okinawan,
Celtic, and Arabic music. Yaz has successfully combined world
music and western music by using state-of-the-art equipment
and technologies.
In Japan, Yaz also composes for popular TV themes as well as
for computer games including the best selling Nitendo game,
