And the collective soul that is The Huge is the synergistic talents of four men who have wandered from across this nation to arrive at a single gathering point. And the talents offered are impressive. Consider the lilting, haunting vocals. Consider the harmonic lead dance of frettists Joel Langley and Michael Feldman, their fingers interplaying across electrified strings in an urgent melodic duet of frenetic energy. Consider the self-assured recurring subsonic throb emanating from the bass of the hypnotic Rasputin, Jeff Cowles. Consider the brutal, emotionless, Gordon-Gecko-drive of drummer Greg Berger. Berg is nearing age 40 and he will not be screwed with, dammit… Maybe that’s the key. These guys have HAD IT. They know all too well the hassles of the real world. They know about the graft. About the corruption. About politics. About being subjugated by little pricks in hats. So, they know what they want. It’s the opportunity for creativity, man. That’s a drive that we all feel at one time or another. Those of us that successfully channel that drive go places. And for The Huge, the drive is in the music, man. Huge music. Music that offers some semblance of stability and respite from a world that is otherwise simply insane. Joyful angry frightening humorously mysterious loving bitter deceitful helpful friendly courteous kind cheerful thrifty brave clean reverent music that covers the entire spectrum of human emotion. Music that is as much a release for The Huge as it is for the thousands of Huge fans that, by the way, grow in number each day. And that, by itself, is impressive testimony to back an impressive ability. It is nothing short of The Huge celebration of this dance they call Life. Music for music's sake. Artist History And there are many unanswered questions. Who – or, more appropriately --- What – is the Huge? That is a question that raged as the subject of intense debate among the Ancient Scribes. Off the record, they just may be that black-bag Special Operations unit of whose existence the government continues to deny to this day, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.... Then again, maybe they're not.… Few know of Their origins. But they have been with us --- throughout the Ages. They are the Watchers of human evolution. Observers of our folly. The ancient Roscutarians whispered tales of The Huge in barely-audible tones. They formulated philosophies that provided the foundations of humanity, and introduced the concepts of good and evil. The Roscutarians understood that The Huge is both and it is neither. The Huge is an ancient and eternal game of cosmic volleyball, serving exchanges of opposing forces, good and evil, yin and yang, life and death, man and woman, dog and cat, Democrat and Republican. And…. incredibly enough…..all outcomes are predetermined. Remember the first test you passed or failed? Your first job interview? Your first sexual encounter? The results were enscribed in the Book of Huge nearly a millennia before the birth of your grandparents. Ever get the feeling you were born under a lucky (or unlucky) star? Get used to it…. The Huge has determined your Fate, and there’s no changing it. Unless, of course, that’s what They would prefer….. Who do you supposed orchestrated the fall of the Roman Empire? Who underwrote the Crusades? And to ensure the advancement of civilization, who do you think inspired certain men of history such as Archimedes, Socrates, DaVinci, Gallileo, Edison, Salk, and Oppenheimer? Who do you think allowed the discovery of penicillin? Who is responsible for the outcome of virtually every election for the last 200+ years in this country? And who do you think reviewed your encrypted e-mail before you received it? Hell, who allowed you to receive it? The Huge is everywhere. Their existence is painted into all aspects of our life, subtly and often obviously. To openly hide as they do is but their own little joke upon us all. Do you, by way of example, honestly believe it is purely random occurrence that “Huge” appears as the 17th defined word found on page 661 of the American College Dictionary (3rd Edition)? And yet, to attempt to define WHAT The Huge may be is fruitless. They are the proverbial mystery wrapped up inside the riddle that is bundled in the enigma. Stare at their images all you wish. Log on to www.the-huge.com. Try to focus on Their features, and you will be amazed to find that They simply lack definition; that They resist the most prolific attempts at description. They are Shape-Shifters...we see them only as they allow.... They are ominpotent and all-contrasting. They embody all that is loved, and all that is despised. All that is good and all that is evil. Yet, on whatever side of the cosmic fence we may believe Them to be, ultimately, what we may think is of no consequence. Our existence is merely a curiousity and, perhaps, an amusing diversion from the continuous cycle that is The Huge Agenda. They allow their critics to criticize, Their supporters to praise, the meek to continue to be subjugated, yet all is without regard or even concern over outcome. We are simply there for Their amusement, yet we are neither pawns nor tools, for to be either would imply that our existence has a place in The Huge Agenda. Will The Huge allow continued propagation of the human race? Are They Friend? Foe? Societal menace? Or, perhaps, .....simply.......musicians? Don’t ask, Kid..........You Can’t Handle the Truth. Just…..go. Be. And remember that, for as long as you may walk this Earth, with The Huge, there is but one simple truth that you need understand. One simple Reality. Really. Say The Huge: “Mess with Us..........and you become Our Business”.
