Artist History
Rising out of the Detroit pop scene in 1997 with the intention of single-handedly saving rock music, the A#'s bring an arsenal of guitar fury & crafty songwork to their mix of Rhodes electric piano and wicked-awesome harmonies. Far from pure "rock revivalism," the band is always eager to explore non-traditional structures and instrumentation... but never at the expense of raw power. Their furious & frenetic live shows have left a trail of carnage from New York to Nebraska, opening for such acts as Veruca Salt, Stereophonics, Super Furry Animals, the B-52's, Superdrag, Juliana Hatfield, Sponge, PJ Olsson, Eve6, and 12 Rods. The band released their first full-length CD "Electromotive" in early 2000, which was met with critical acclaim by the US rock press. The band is currently touring in support of the album and preparing material for a summer 2001 release. |

Press Reviews
"Seeing the Atomic Numbers at SXSW was nearly a religious experience, and in that show I realized that they are, hands down, one of the most professional, exciting, substantial acts on the rise right now from Detroit. If you have a chance to see them play, simply do so. There is no way you'll be disappointed." - [Real Detroit Weekly] - "...the Atomic Numbers has pushed itself to the front of the Motor City scene. Mark these words: Big things await..." - [Detroit Free Press] |
