Artist description
SomeOddPilot recording artist Salvo Beta is the new electro-bully on the block and Abrasive Stuttering is the debut album. Despite the fact that the man behind Salvo Beta weighs in at an impressive 103 lbs., his new album will knock you down, steal your lunch money and kick sand in your face with its hyper-aggressive beats and tactful sound spasms. Abrasive Stuttering is a multi-layered superstructure of texture and color, driveshaft beats and rhythms taken off of hot coals - a perfect execution in contemporary idm and drum & bass collage. There are also scattered escapes into serene floatation, away from the grit of the hulking machine - a chance to collect your scattered dimes and brace yourself for the next melee. Salvo Beta is Sean Wolfe - a computer geek with nice equipment and a brand new Ford Focus. This young man-child has created 13 tracks that kick up a storm around the electronic genre, with nods to the caustic attitude of Kid 606 and Melt Banana, the bipolar rhythmic behavior reminescent of Mouse-On-Mars, or the Saturday morning infectious jingling of network television. From front to back this disc spins like a flawless dj set of sneaky transitions, depositing you deep in the woods without a trail of breadcrumbs. |

Artist History
Wolfe first began producing tracks under the alias Scarlet Fever about 7 years ago by coding MOD tracks on his PC. He brought his programs to a garage-rock band in an attempt to form an interesting new group, but their unwillingness to accept anything but standard rock styles forced him to move on. After saving up money by returning cutout CD?s to Wal-Mart, Wolfe was able to purchase his first synthesizer. He used it in combination with computer-generated music and second-hand instruments, and the AKIRA project was born. Wolfe produced several DIY cassette releases before changing the name to Salvo Beta |

Group Members
The Salvo Beta live show has evolved from the standard "solo", knob twisting electronic performance into a seriously juiced form of entertainment that includes DJ Blowfish and Dan Smith, the human drummer. Sean and Dan have collaborated on other projects such as Is.U.Is (an improv space-rock trio) and Pointy Teeth (Preston Klik's [My Scarlet Life] live techno project). Salvo Beta was also featured live at this year's Undershorts Film Festival presented by Supersphere and has headlined for /bin productions. |

Press Reviews
"Salvo Beta is strangely mutated noises and grit organized and layered into agressive rhythms and quirky melodies that shred through speakers... some sounds are simlar to Aphex Twin or Coil with Attitude. Abrasive Stuttering provides tons of sonic candy to rot your teeth..."-Elixer Music Magazine"Salvo Beta tosses diversity into a big heap of beats, and scratches, and squaks, and gurgles, and drones..." -supersphere.com |
