Artist description
Totally original instrumental band made up of your traditional line-up of Drums,Guitar, Keys,Bass & Saxes but with each member being a multi instrumentalist the sound is supplemented with more exotic instruments including hand percussion, accordion, mandolin etc.. Adam our horn player is proficient on all the horns including clarinet and that gives us broad scope in the front line.We all primarily come from a jazz background hence the improv nature however each has akeen interest in world musics and cultures. Each of us feature prominently in the world music scene here in Melbourne. The idea of the band is to throw all our collective influences into a big hat and rather than sounding like a world music band we hope that we achieve a sound that is Melbourne Australia.Dancing is important, we are jazzers but this band is funky and we like to make people dance also. |
