Artist description
Louie is an MBA and a CIO for a major oil company in San Ramon, CA. and a very talented songwriter/artist beginning to get noticed by the music industry. One of those who has taken particular interest, Craig Krampf (Nashville-based musician, songwriter, and producer) says that it is the "heart and passion" in Louie's voice that first caught his attention. Krampf played an instrumental role in producing Louie's first CD ( "at home" - released in late 1998 on Comstock Records and In Your Ear Records - available on this site as well) and has teamed up with Louie again on Louie' new release ( "The Rock In The Sand") - released this summer on In Your Ear Records and also available on this web site. One cut from Louie's first CD, "Just Like You" was extremely well received by European radio ( peaked at #2 on Indie charts, #11 on ECMA major chart) as well as US independent radio (peaked at #12 on The Panel Report charts). ...and now... With players like the great Al Perkins (steel guitar, lap steel, slack key guitar, and banjo) of Dan Fogelberg fame, the talented Chris Leuzinger (guitar) from many Garth Brooks records, rockin' Spencer Campbell (bass) fresh off of a recent Cheryl Crow tour, the multi-talented Craig Krampf, and Louie's special vocal and writing talents, it is no wonder why a buzz around Nashville and within the industry has begun in response to Louie's new album ( "The Rock In The Sand"). Visit this web site to hear this talented artist for yourself and to order both of Louie's CDs. Also... email NYourEar@aol.com to get on Louie's mailing list or to order his CD directly from the record label.A successful businessman trying to make it in the music industry as a songwriter/artist? Press Reviews
REVIEW OF TO GET OVER YOU --- Pro Critic Station on MP3.com Louie has one of the most amazing stories I've ever read on Mp3.com ... a successful Houston area oil industry executive, Louie has been trying to get the attention of Nashville for fifteen years now ... acccording to his artist page, he is influenced by the likes of Crosby, Stills and Nash, the Eagles, etc ... listening to his music you hear early Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Amazing Rhythm Aces, with touches of early Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne ... on TO GET OVER YOU, Louie defers to a more electric almost grunge / southern rock approach, allowing the guitarist to rip apart any concept of what a country song should sound like in the beginning, before settling down to a more familiar if not comfortable contemporary country sound ... where Gram Parsons defined and coined the term country rock as being country music performed by a rock band, rock country is defined as rock played by a country band ... there's a touch of the kind of soul that made songs like "Devil with a Blue Dress On" by Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels so intense ... the countrified hard rockin almost psychedelic guitar riffs give me the spirit of the Hollies with a touch of the Amboy Dukes and a large shake of Hot Country right out of Nashville ... this is very hip by Nashville standards on the radio right now ... but well deserving of the major label attention Louie has been searching for all these years. |
