    Artist History
Lolly Gobble Choc Bomb (LGCB) are an electro / dance band from Telford, Shropshire in England. Attempts to slot electronic bands into the many genres of today is always a difficult thing to do, hence listen to our sound clips on the site and make your own mind up (email us and tell us what you think). LGCB has been around in one form or another since the summer of 1995 (back then we were known as Memory Loss). Memory Loss were formed by founder members Nobby Neat and Mark McMellon. Nobby & Mark have been together musically since 1988 having played drums and bass respectively in a rock band called Den of Iniquity. Den of Iniquity folded in 1994 with the guitarist and vocalist heading off to find other rock bands to employ their talents. Meanwhile, drummer Nobby a techno convert from the early 90's rave scene, saw the demise of Den of Iniquity as an opportunity to explore the world of electronic music. Bassist Mark was keen to learn and give it a go - Memory Loss was born. All the early songs were written using limited amounts of kit namely : Atari computer; Technox sound module and Roland SPD-11 drum pad. A PC was acquired to replace the Atari for sequencing purposes and the Roland VS880 added later in the year. Despite brave but limited attempts to maintain a vocal presence within the music, vocal quality was missing - enter Carrol Parker ready for the new year 1996. Memory Loss continued in the form of a 3 piece up until May 1998. The music of Memory Loss was wide and varied reflecting the evolution of the band from previous rock beginnings through to industrial / techo type offerings. At that time the band were fairly unique in that "live" shows were an integral feature of the bands' output. The live show consisted of Mark playing Bass and some keyboards; Nobby playing the Roland drum pad, occasional keyboards, and generally running and jumping around like a thing pocessed; and Carrol providing "proper" vocals. May 1998 saw the departure of founder member Mark McMellon, a consequence of a change in "day job". However, Marks' departure was only a musical one as Marks' IT expertise made him an ideal candidate for his new role as band webmaster. Subsequently, June 1998 saw the formation of Lolly Gobble Choc Bomb. With regret, Carrol too had to knock things on the head due to work commitmentsduring early 2000 (bummer, only me left now).Lolly Gobble Choc Bombs attraction is a dancefloor friendly sound whilst retaining that sort of rib-cage-thumping-harder-edge to the sound.
