Artist History Frankie Glitter Doll was the singer in the infamous SF band, Glitter Doll. Frankie dined with whores, lepers, and tipped the tables of the money changers. I accidentally drank his sweet, tainted blood off his face after he got beat up in '91. (I was tripping on Gwar outside the I-Beam and couldn't tell the difference between real and fake blood. Luckily, I didn't get sick) Frankie was known for his inventive style of venting affectionate invective at everything as much for his sweet, thoughtful personality that was a rare treat in this fucked-up world. He was more man than you and more woman than you could handle and would kick your ass and mean it with love. After Frankie died of AIDS in 1994, I thought all we had to commemorate him were the words "Glitter Doll" carved in the bathroom wall of the rehabs, etched in every sidewalk, and written in lipstick in the back of police cars. Then my neighbor Lynne gave me a CD she made of him when she was in his band for a day. We put it up here. Frankie would have wanted it that way. I guarantee. Michael Dean
