Artist description
Although there is certainly no shortage of acoustic guitar playing singer /songwriters in the New York metropolitan area, David W. Jacobsen is a welcome addition. He stands out from the fold by writing catchy, well structured, and intelligent songs in a style uniquely his own. With a focus on emotion and drama his songs have a power and sincerity that is hard to deny. His music is far more interesting and appealing than simple 1970s style folk rock. He writes the kind of melodies that can get stuck in ones head for days. His lyrics deal with themes like survival, grace under pressure, and the search for belief in a world that often seems to hold nothing sacred. |
