Artist History
HistoryCXQ5 formed in the summer of 95. The original line up, Tim Thomas, Willie Blue, Mark Wolford and Jessica McIntosh went straight into the studio to record the 13 song LP CXQ5 BHCT 001. Jessica moved away shortly after the sessions. Tim, Willie and Mark played local clubs around Seattle. By fall Willie moved to LA to continue a career in film. That left Tim and Mark to carry on. CXQ5 received help from a number of bassist over the next year: Jim Sykes (Hoover Cain), Bruce Coddington (the Kind), Rob Mitchell (you name it), Mike Wojas (Shwag) and occasionally Willie Blue himself (Hollywood Five-O).Mark and Tim eventually parted ways in the winter of 97, mostly because of Tim's tendency to actually think he was CXQ5.Tim soon joined forces with Brain Fich (drums) and Robin Windham (bass) formerly of the band Deep Cycle.CXQ5 recorded the three song EP CXQ5 BHCD 002 in January 98. At Stepping Stone Recording with Daniel Mendez. During the recording Brian was in a fatal automobile accident. Although Tim and Robin were able to complete the recording, They needed time to pick up the pieces. In April 98 CXQ5 played their first show back with John Hutton helping out on drums. In the summer of 98, CXQ5 found a permanent drummer in Michael Robson (Quisp, Shwag, Russ), longtime friend and former band mate of Tim's. |
