Artist description
Why did Lorraine Bobbit attack her husband?
Because she was listening to Sugarpuss before she caught that fool cheating! Sugarpuss the band creates a sound that inspires raw emotions.
Pat, the percussionist, fiercely attacks, axing heads with her sticks. Dora claws the strings of her possessed guitar, ripping demons through her dark heart and releasing mellifluous screams for your pleasure. Lisa’s bass rattles the bones loose in your skull, while her growls incite madness.
Sugarpuss fermented in the deadly dawn of 1999 out of disgust for the fluffy, less than serious regard reserved for girl bands and a will to show the masses that sweet does not necessarily equal meek. Sugarpuss’ cranium throbbing, nerve breaking sound design quickly attracted a population of worshippers who sought a regular dose of the band’s bad ass medicine.
The trio formed when Lisa and Pat met Dora through an “LA Weekly” ad. Dora’s raw edgy guitar blended with Pat’s precise beats and Lisa’s mysterious vocals like a perfect scotch and soda on the rocks. Sugarpuss has played throughout Hollywood at such clubs as The Whisky A-Go-G0, The Smell and The Knitting Factory, to name a few. Overtime the chemical contamination of LA water mutated Sugarpuss into a more primal, vulgar and caustic sound that commands the attention of music lovers seeking an outlet for aggression. This evolved, multifaceted, rough sound has added a new group of fans to Sugarpuss’ already wide fan base.
In April 2003 Sugarpuss returned from a southwest tour of the USA and immediately recorded their first full-length album VICTIM, available now. Currently, Sugarpuss is blowing out new material and buffing earlier original songs for their northwest tour starting in September 2003. Hide the sharp objects and lock up the ammunition, then go check out a Sugarpuss show.

Press Reviews
"Sugarpuss: Three Song Demo (self-released 2001)- Proving that chicks can rock as hard as the guys can, this all-grrrl punk band reads the rrriott act on these aggressively feminine anthems of love, heartache and letters to God."
-IN LA Magazine
"The tattooed, pierced and Manic Panic hair-colored Sugarpuss go for a feral vibe, with gloomy tunes and Donnas/L7 influences..."
-LA Weekly
"It's rather crowded at the Gauntlet II in Silver Lake on a chilly Friday in early April. A couple of Asian girls with pink hair and black lipstick mingle with a guy with a mohawk who's got a bone through his nose, while, on stage, all-girl punk band Sugarpuss charge through a decidedly raw little ditty called "Pretty Pain." Lead singer Lisa tosses her head back and forth while belting out the lyrics to the aggressively feminine love song, her black T-shirt emblazoned with the words "I have the biggest dick in the band..."
