Artist History
MICHAEL DREW SHAW is a well-known radio personality, filmmaker and entrepreneur in the Detroit/Toledo/Cleveland markets. With twenty years on-air experience and an impressive background in writing, production, promotion and broadcast management, he has numerous credits in his career portfolio.
A highly regarded entertainment and marketing consultant, he is the founder of NTR Corporation, a diversified communications firm based in Toledo, Ohio. NTR clients include HBO, Cox Cable of California, CBS Music, Pontiac, Fantasy Properties USA and the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
As a multi-media specialist, Michael co-developed with the Medical College of Ohio a technique that transforms Scanning Electron Microscope data into three-dimensional images used by physicians to enhance the study of highly magnified tissue samples.
Michael is head writer and narrator for NewStar, a production company that syndicates a national radio series about American business pioneers called The Dream WarriorsTM, a joint venture with Ernst & Young, Northwestern Mutual, Entrepreneur Media, The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and major universities nationwide.
A prolific composer since the mid-70's, he has written a wealth of original songs as well as signature commercial jingles for Publix Diet Soda and Burger King and theme songs for The Toledo Mud Hens, and the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.
As a documentarian, he has produced three award-winning commemoratives including The Flight of Apollo Eleven, Distant Shores (A Tribute to Space Shuttle Challenger) and The Sinking Of The Edmund Fitzgerald. He is currently writing the official historical perspective Ohio, A Sentimental Journey for Ohio's Bicentennial.
A published author, his latest novel, Slider (Temple Publishing) is being developed into a made-for-TV movie and Blockbuster video release. Two new fictional books, Unsuspecting Friends and AM 1230 are nearing completion.
Michael is a former Code Council board member for the National Association of Broadcasters and past president of CBS Music DataBank. He is actively involved in promoting entrepreneurship in America, Junior/Senior Adult entrepreneurial partnerships and several virtual-academic projects, including implementation of national distant learning and integrated curriculum programs for K-12th grade.
