Artist History Fall of Empyrean came to exist in late 2000. The band sought to make an impact on the doom metal scene by becoming another quality band with roots in the United States, along with such acts as Evoken, Novembers Doom, and Agalloch. After nearly half a year was spent composing dirges appropriate to the genre, the band entered the studio in April of 2001 to record their first, self-titled demo, wrought with emotionally bleak heavy metal. The demo was unleashed in May of 2001. This was followed up a year later, in December of 2002, with the release of their second demo, "Anhedonia," to critical acclaim, but little recognition from the scene. Now, with a full line-up, the band seeks to record a debut full-length sometime in the beginning of 2004, if all goes well.
