Artist description
contemporary dance music that isn't boring - improvised music you can dance to - musicians not respecting stylistic boundaries - never happen?
"Eclctic Blah" goes just there where you never expected a contemporary ensemble to go. Based on the musical concepts of the 70ies Miles Davis, on a dislike for music that's written down and rehearsed,
and on the stylistic multitude found in the members of the blah and special guests alike, each performance is bound to go anywhere in the blink of an eye -
except, of course, where you'd expect the music to go.
The current "core formation" of Straschill, Bauer, Gruber, Müller and Wechtenbruch is enhanced by regular and spontaneous guests
to make the guest's musical uniqueness and personality a part of the Eclectic Blah concept. The sound examples found here are of course
only examples what can happen when several people untie their binding ropes and run off - but it's never what you'd hear should you encounter us live! |

Artist History
founded 8/2001 by Straschill who put out an ad in a local paper. Hooked up with Gruber and Müller
via that ad, and later recruited Bauer from an ad in the same paper. The core ensemble was soon completed
by Wechtenbruch, a friend and former musical adversary of Gruber.
Current activities focus on regular jams, which are sometimes even used to "rehearse standards",
and concerts in the München vicinity. |
