    Artist History
Bullets N' Octane: Rock band extradited from the Gateway City of St. Louis, MO. toSouthern California due to excessive outbursts of outstanding music and live performances. The Bullets ‘n’ Octane saga is longer and more ridiculous than most, but since you’re already reading … here goes. With musical influences that range from the rock of AC/DC, to the catchiness of the Foo Fighters, the charisma of Green Day, and the hometown feel of John Mellencamp. Bullets ‘n’ Octane started in the antithesis of Southern California, St. Louis, in the late 1990’s. Originally called Ultrafink, the band thrived locally and regionally as the premier band in the middle of the country. Ultrafink toured extensively, garnering a rabid following from Texas to Ohio and beyond. The band had the pleasure of touring and playing with the likes of: The Offspring, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, L7, Social Distortion, Weezer, The Get Up Kids, Rancid, AFI, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Urge, The Aquabats, The Vandals, and many other big time rockers. (Like W.A.S.P. and Sebastion Bach,…really) in addition, to simply touring the Midwest with big named bands, Ultrafink also shared center stage with them at the Annual Point Fest for four years. The Annual Point Fest is the biggest music festival in the center of the country with over 11,000 people in attendance every year. Ultrafink’s first and only release, Carbotrolley, managed to get a ton of airplay on both college and commercial radio. Carbotrolley, even flirted with the CMJ top 100 for a few weeks. Ultrafink eventually ended up selling over 10,000 copies of Carbotrolley. Even today, years later, Ultrafink can contantly be found in the process of being downloaded over Napster. The end of the decade, however, saw the members of Ultrafink looking for a new scene to conquer. Lead vocalist Gene “Bullets” and bassist, Brent “The Snake” Clawson left St. Louis for the expensive drinks and high priced women of Southern California, while former drummer, Ty Smith, found his way into the punk band Guttermouth. Once in California, guitarist “Cactus” Jack and drummer “Doctor” Keith were recruited to finish the Bullets ‘n’ Otane lineup. Already in their short time on the west coast, Bullets ‘n’ Octane has had the pleasure of working with countless bands. Bullets ‘n’ Octane songs have received airplay on college radio nationally, and have been featured as “Catch of the Day” on KROQ. The band has also earned a large following of all-agers in its short stay in sunny California. So what’s in store for the Bullets ‘n’ Octane boys? Well…listen to the music, it’s obvious that the sky’s the limit. So…please hang on for the ride. It’ll be fun. We promise!
