Artist History
Hey, my name is Ryan Brent Cerchiai . . . but you can call me Ryan Brent because that last name can be more trouble than it's worth sometimes. I'm a singer/songwriter/musician who's been at it on-and-off for nearly ten years. At various points my songs have been featured on MTV, numerous radio stations and music-related web sites; and I've received press in a number of other industry publications, too.
What do I sound like? That's hard for me to answer -- I'd say that if Oasis and the Barenaked Ladies had sex that I would be their kid (I told you it wasn't easy for me to answer). For some reason I feel compelled to inform you that my favorite bands and influences include: The Beatles, Semisonic, Convoy, Weezer, Ben Folds, Fountains Of Wayne, Better Than Ezra, Phantom Planet, U2 and many more.
I used to be the primary singer/songwriter for a successful Orlando, FL based band called Shoes For Paul. After a few years I left the band due to growing internal problems and a lot of unrealistic expectations. I then spent a couple of years in Austin, TX before finally landing in Los Angeles, CA. I just finished recording an acoustic album called Work Your Way Up and am laying the groundwork for a full-band recording, hopefully to be realized sometime this summer. I'll let you know if and when anything else interesting comes up.
Best,
Ryan Brent Cerchiai
